Petrol Filler tube for GT3

Can anyone help!
My GT3 seems to be leaking a small amount of petrol when driven.
It doesn't seem to leak when parked on my drive, but when I return home I sometimes smell petrol and the underneath of petrol tank is a bit wet.
The garage have told me I need a new Petrol Filler Tube, has anyone got a non-corroded one I could buy? and any experience of these types of leaks.

Does it do it when it's about half full or Parked on hill

does he mean the tank filler neck has corroded? nothing else higher up is metal.
if the tank is OK then you can get the plastic pipes from any mk1 punto at your local scrap yard for peanuts.
check your clips first.

I've been in hospital for an op and am only just regaining my senses.
If the petrol tank is filled up to half tank then the petrol seems to leak, if I only keep a gallon in then all is ok.
I did seek the advice of my garage before I went in hospital and they say it is very corroded around the filler tube and that there is no available tank that will fit, apparantly Fiat or after market suppliers do not make a metal tank.
They have been told that it is dangerous to fit a plastic petrol tank, so I guess that some people have tried.
Has anyone got a metal fuel tank for sale, I can get it re-conditioned for £200 if it is only suface rust on it, or can anyone tell me what plastic tank would fit if its safe and where to buy it and what mods need doing to fit it.
