yeah, compare the molerat gave me quote nearer the 2.5-3k mark, but that other quote was my first call cos my mate has an 85 and she is insured for 800 a year, so i thought i'd get a reasonable price, considering her car is four specs higher!
still, 2.5k is bloody expensive for a 1.1! madness.

i know, but lets be honest it shouldn't be that i'm being forced to such an extreme option. should be able to get a small engined car and get small quotes, i'll shop around and if it really is that much then i'll just have to stick it out untill i get some no claims! but i just thought i'd make you all feel a bit better about your insurance haha!

I just turned 18 the other day and I'm just short of 2k for a 55s.
Before you say 'shop around', I didn't drive for 6 months after passing my test as I couldn't afford the insurance. This whole 6 months I 'shopped around'. It seems the newer the car the cheaper it is to insure. All of my mates in their new corsas/fiestas are cheaper than me.
