After fixing an oil leak i had i noticed quite alot of the oil had blown all around the engine bay.
So i decided to give it a clean with some Gunk Degreaser

I know it could be cleaner but i gave up after that, but its better than it was!

I've just used brake cleaner soaked into a cloth. Matt is this safe? I found it to be a lot easier.

I'd rinse after to be safe as it could react with the gaskets and plastics.

Can't say I've ever come across that problem, and my dad has been cleaning engine plastics with brake cleaner for 20+ years. I use a thorough cleaning method myself, but when he does any mechanical work, he always gives the plastics a quick wipe down..

Yea I wiped mine down with warm water cause I did notice some (I find this word very fitting) splashback on my fan. My mate also uses mechanics best friend wd40
I've never used brake Fluid to clean plastic, I just assumed it MAY melt or distort the plastics.
