Yeah the pillars are a ball ache. I'll be looking at other ways of supporting the flat roof so I can loose them.

Thanks for the offer mate, but as above, i'm more than competent. Just don't have the time of money to do it atm. Think i'm gonna use 110 for the lights and fit 4 halogen spot lights on the walls. I don't like fluescents tbh, and the halogen spotlights give off heat too, so 2 birds with one stone

Wow also jealous muchly. Looks awesome (git)

Thing is if you insulate and plasterboard it you're losing some space out of the garage albeit not a huge amount. Just insulate the roof and carpet the walls if it were me.

I'm dead jealous of all these decent sized garages too! I haven't had a garage in which you could fully open even one of the car's doors in years, let alone have a storage and workspace in.

I'm looking into insulating mine as well, I didn't want a cavity wall for the reason brum just mentioned.
I think I'm gonna use some thermal board, it's the same thickness as plasterboard but it has the same thermal properties as about 200mm of rockwool.
It would mean that it will need skimming afterwards though, but it's a good thing to use if you don't want to lose any space inside the garage.
