Midnight Blue GT2 (Ideal for conversion)

Right, I need to sell this pretty sharpish, to make room for another project. If it doesn't sell, then I will either
    a) Put back on the road and sell for alot more
    b) Break it for a lot more

Basically, I bought this with a missfire so bad that it could barely idle. The previous owner was going to break it for spares, but due to my love for these little cars, I decided to save it. It then sat in my garage for about 2 months untouched lol. After a potential buyer, I decided to investigate the issue using a few parts that I had accumulated. Replaced AFM, plugs, and HT leads, made no difference. Found that both pipes on the fuel pump carrier to have snapped and re-glued back on. Replaced the carrier and she started on the button, the EML came on for a few minutes then went out.

Drove her up and down my road today, and the engine drives as should. Brakes need a little attention, bleeding I imagine as felt spongy. Fan kicks in as and when it should, oil pressure is as it should be. Comp test was good with cylinder 2 being slightly higher than the rest due to having a piston replaced.

Onto the body work. The body work is pretty straight, BUT the roof will need spraying, due to laquer peel, and also the bonnet has slight laquer peel and also 2 little dents, ideally would need replacing to make perfect. Underneath isn't too bad. A fair bit of surface rust, but nothing too drastic. Ive had a poke about and I did find a little hole behind the sill (where they always go). But nothing a little welding can't fix. I was gonna do this and i still might if doesn't sell, but everything extra I do to put right, will reflect on the price.

History, I am the 9th owner, but with the last 3 including me, all being short term to fix and sell. Registered January 1996 and has approx 125k miles on her. She comes with 1 red key & 1 blue key. Please remember that the average mileage for a daily car is 12k per annum (should be 180k based on those figures). Service History goes in this cars favour, and is as follows (I have also just replaced plugs, and oil change):

    10,566
    21,952
    33,697
    41,209
    50,103
    57,098
    66,180
    74,793
    87,156
    99,397
    111,413
    119,238

Interior is pretty clean, not perfect though. The drivers seat doesn't recline, cheap fix tho. Rear seats don't look like they have seen much use.

I would like £400, and I will not settle for a penny less.

This car is perfect for a donor car to be used in a conversion, and you can scrap the rest for £100 once you have taken what you need. Its also perfect for someone that doesn't mind giving it a bit of TLC, someone that is into detailing may be able to make a good job of the roof and save a few pound notes. There is currently no MOT or Tax, due to these reasons, the car will need trailering away

Anyway, thanks for looking, and hopefully this won't hang about

Good luck with the sale Todd, real shame about that roof though

Still think its a reasonable car for the age though, not many blue uns left!

Just thought i would say also i MUCH prefer a GT with standard silver wheels! (for the record this is ME, saying i LIKE your wheels, more than can be said for some )

Pmsl, cheers buddy. I really don't want to break it but I think to get any decent money from it, I'd need the roof sprayed

can you not get away with just having it re-lacquered? That said though, i did say to mark to spray just the roof won't cost much!

Thats the only thing that really let its down! Still a cheap car though! Have you considered bunging an MOT on it?

Do you not know anyone in the trade who can drive it to and from a testing station?

    quote is your friend

Pics added that I took this afternoon. Hasn't been cleaned, that is how it came out the garage. Obviously ignore the fact that has no lights, they are on the seat at the moment.
