I will stick mine up when I've faffed with them when I'm back from Manchester. Needless to say it looks the best it's ever done.

Like most cars that come to me for a treatment, Wilky's Evo looked like an abandoned train wreck.
Like all my treatments, I started in the usual way, with the wheels. Taking care of these early is key, because the overall look of the car can be won or lost by the condition of the wheels..
I then made my start on the paintwork, deciding on a TFR pre-wash to make removal of the grime so much easier during the wash phase which followed
Then the fun began. Wilky had recognised that there was no protection present on the car, and that he didn't want the paintwork drying out and getting damaged over winter. As you can imagine, this being the case, there were lots of bonded contaminants on the paint. I used a gentle clay, owing to Mitsubishi's soft paint, and not wanting to damage it...
I then re-washed the vehicle to remove any residue, and got as much of the water off it as possible using drying towels whilst it was still outside. I then wheeled it into the unit, which Wilky was happy about, as he had been bleating about being cold aaand he says he's a hardened northener?!
Dried it indoors with the blower..
The bonnet had been resprayed at some point Wilky informed me, but looking at the finish under the halogen lamps, it was very poorly finished. I have recommended in the new year when he brings the car back to me that I flat sand it for him, and then perform a 3 stage polishing process on it to bring it up to speed - the rest of the car will only need single stage polish
It was then time to apply the protection. Since PSC club funds were being used, Wilky just said to me "use the most expensive thing you've got" - so I did. Crystal Rock. I charged him handsomely for it too, I've eaten well this week
That was then left to cure, and whilst it was doing so, I tended to the interior, and applied Swissvax Autobahn to the wheels.
I then buffed the wax residue off, which left reflectivity better than a mirror
All I had to do then was dress the tyres and take some final snaps in the unit, with the white balance adjusted so they are less orange than Wilky's - the SLR n00b
Wanting some better shots with more lighting, we took it down to Tesco's, but unlike Dan who paid his £7 to the Polski's to finish it, Wilky was happy with the finished results and just wanted moar pics..
Enjoy
I hope you enjoyed the read!!
All the best,
Matt.
