    Pics from yesterday..

    Dorma's are finished...

Chimney boob is just about done upstairs as well...

Started to knock the back out, can see how big it's gonna be once it's cleared! Bigger than I thought again!

    And the stairs have arrived...

And the windows have been fitted upstairs, only the french doors downstairs to fit now!

    Fitting the trims...

Looks like a proer house now, can't wait until the scaffodling is down and the bottom half is rendered!

    Update from today...

Chimney boob is getting built, should be finished this morning.

    Guttering is going up...

And the stairs are in... Alot more compact than I thought!

Just started to knock out for the french doors as well, which are getting fitted this afternoon. You can see where they will be fitted from the cuts in the wall...

    Moar this afternoon...

No trouble really. It's on the edge of the village so we had to get a bat survey done to check for evidence of bats living in the house.

It cost us close to 500 quid for them to say 'yeah you're right, there aren't any bats up there'.

Apart from that, as long as you're not silly and want to build something that will not fit in with the surroundings or fill 99% of your plot you should be find.

I planned to do that, but they couldn't just take out word. They needed a document from a qualified Ecologist which is why it cost so much!

The bottom half of the house is getting rendered so we can use blockwork to bung holes up.
