Whats the best softwear to get for your PC?

I wanna play around with stuff i record and add music etc, whats the best softwear to get and how much it going to set me back?

afaik the standard stuff with XP Pro is quite good and user friendly. I havent used mine yet though.

ulead photosuite is ok and easy to use

if u want something really good get adobe premaire but that hard to use

Another silly question, wheres the best place i can get accessories for my camera from? Its a Panasonic, and please don't say Panasonic web site as their prices are just wrong!!
