Avast security

My dads got avast security on his computer but it's playing up. It's pretty much locked him out the avast program I.e it keeps telling me it can't reach the different security settings and when you click update it says that the service is unavailable. It's saying there is a problem as it's come up with fix now but nothing happens. It seems like the avast server is down, well how it's acting anyway. Anyone else use this and having issues or is it just mune

They that bad? It's been like it for a week I just ain't had a chance to look at it till tonight. You saying scrap it and go elsewhere lol

I think its what we have at work, or did and its a nightmare when you try to do anything uncouth.

If its being a week, its ****ed.

Have you consulted google, just put in Avast security lock out or something, if its an issue with Avast someone will of posted blogged and spewed a reason and solution for it.

i use avg, its free and does the job

try system restore point. avg free is good however i find it slows my laptop down no end, sometimes difficult to load a web page.

tried most of them tbh, explorer, google chrome, firefox. i'm currently using opera, which seems to run the best for me so far

not tried that one, ive no idea why avg would cause crashing unless you didnt realise and it installed the avg search bar?

Id just try to re install the avast and see if that works. If it doesnt then i would start more investigation

A corrupt install can cause it to act up, as with any other program
