Some of us have already surpassed this level of tuning . You have competition this year, it's just that all the decent ones are now up for sale
If you have any car care related questions, ask me in the Cleaning/Detailing section.

I did have all this info years ago but already had the better car so no need to put it in a punto, everyone is selling up to get on the better car bandwagon.

I still have all the bits in my shed, DERP.

Out of curiosity why would you stroke a 1.4 to 1.6 when a 1.6 lump is already available. Yes thinner walls and all that but it has a larger bore and shorter stroke which is better for low down torque?

Seems alot of money to get something that is already available.

Stroking the 1.6 to 1.9 however is a different matter.

1.4 to 1.6 is money wasting in my eyes!

But to make this its quite easy!

Stock pistons (need a bit to cut)

    This rods (120mm from Fiat)

    and a stilo crank!

Yep, can use one of my spare GT blocks instead of the 1600, or the Uno block?

No point stroking a 1.4 when you can just slot in the 1.6 block as Jonsey stated, however the thinner walls argument isnt up to much either, its the same block basically, just as strong.

Why increase the throw when you can just increase the bore? This engine wont necessarilly respond better to an increase in stroke over a bore increase as some engines would etc.

My rods look different to yours Andre

you are wrong bud longer stroke creates better torque than large bores and short stroke thus being able to run a big turbo with less lagg. maybe you think you can build this cheeper hey well i bet your pistons arnt rediculusly light and again the rods are forged for a weight saving point ov view so believe it or not you will get bags of torque and 9-9.5k rpm allday long now tell me your sporting engine will do that. anyway enough blabbing take it to the strip, mine will be running asfrom next spring so id like to see what poeple back there views up with and it is a 1.4 stroker to1.6 or 1.9 but pistons i have are for the 1.6. the 1.9 is available also just ask me if thats what you want
