    GPM Punto GT 1600cc - £5500 ono

    Hello all,

It is with great sadness that I write this thread

After 8 long years, the time has come for me and my dad to part company with our Punto GT. It comes taxed until 31/10/2011, and with an MOT until 22/10/2011 - with no advisories at the last test. The car is immaculate inside and out, having only covered 43k miles from new, with a 'special' engine that has now covered 2.5k miles.

The project thread I created for the car last year can be viewed here:

    http://www.puntosports.co.uk/forums/...&highlight=GPM

    The spec list includes, but is not limited to;

    WGP10 Engine - 1.6 8v Turbo

    • DTA E48 mapped by Ric Wood.
    • Turbosmart Twin-gated Boost Controller (1bar / 1.2bar).
    • Fiat X1/9 1500cc Engine Block with GPM o/s custom engine mount.
    • Protoxide GPM Spec Headgasket.
    • 87mm Wossner Forged Pistons and Rings.
    • Quasar Lightened and Balanced GT Crank.
    • Quasar Balanced GT Bottom Pulley.
    • POTR Balanced Aluminium Flywheel (3.5kg)
    • Arrow Precision H-Beam Conrods with ARP big end bolts.
    • Integrale Fuel Pump
    • Sard 450cc Injectors
    • FSE Fuel Pressure Regulator
    • GPM Modified GT Inlet Manifold (also with quick release).
    • 65mm Throttle Body
    • CNC Cylinder Head with modified combustion chambers, GT valve assembly.
    • ARP Head Stud and Nut conversion.
    • Piper Fast Road Cam.
    • Piper Reinforced Cambelt.
    • GPM 57mm Stainless Steel Boost Pipes.
    • SFS Silicone Hoses.
    • Forge FMIC.
    • Hybrid GT28R Turbo with custom GPM oil feed.
    • POTR 4-1 Tubular Exhaust Manifold, heat wrapped with GPM Heatshield.
    • Evil 63mm Turbo Elbow.
    • GPM 63mm Downpipe.
    • Powerflow 63mm de-cat back Exhaust with 76mm tailpipe.
    • Quikshift 2 Air Filter (stainless mesh).
    • Collins Atmospheric DV.
    • Alloy Radiator by Rad-Tec, relocated to centre.
    • Battery relocated to the boot.

This engine has been professionally built. It is the only known working example in the UK at present. This is your chance to own an extremely fast, reliable, and one of the most sought after GT's in the country.

Within the last 6 months the car has also been detailed to a very high standard, and will be presented to you after an extensive maintenance detail to ensure it is in immaculate condition. Please note, pictures below show a colour coded front bumper insert, this has since been refinished to match the side bump strips.

This is arguably the best example of a Punto GT in the UK. The car will not be broken, so please, no PM's asking for dibbs on this or that. We are asking for £5,500 or nearest offer. All sensible offers will be considered. This is a very hardcore GT, not for the faint hearted.

We appreciate the asking price is high for this type of car, and we are also aware that people like to build their own projects - but there is a good reason why this is the only known working example of an X19 derived engined GT in this country.

Viewing is welcome, although you will not be able to test drive the car without proof of valid and adequate insurance. It is based in Altrincham, Cheshire.

PM me only if you wish to come and view the car - no canvassing or bartering via PM without first viewing the car. This is a "must see" sale.

    Thanks,
    Matt.

If you believe the hype, ITRO 280hp.

Bill has always stated this was about real performance and not just bolting big turbo on.

Matt does get carried away, but it probably is the best GT on this forum, low milage, nice to look at, very high spec engine built in a workshop not in the gutter or a the corner of a carpark...

Very nice! If I had the balls to get a loan for a Punto... I'd take the plunge!

    Good luck with the sale!

Cheers lads, and Dan for the additional input.

This is a genuine sale - with 2 classics, a normal car and this, something has to give to make way for a company van, and sadly, this Punto is used the least and is the most expensive to run/tax/insure.
