what are the best brakes and pads
ive had me service done 2day ( she had a new new coil pack HT leads and a full service )
the guy advised me that i need new front disks and pads. so what are the best brakes you can get for a mk1 sporting 1.2 16v :P

Personally I would say standard disks with EBC Green Stuff Brake pads from Demon Tweeks £42 and change. I have used Green Stuff brake pads on every car that I have owned for at least 10 years, they do exactly what the write up says and for a late braker like myself outlast anything else so are worth the extra dosh, plus the give off very little dust which saves getting your alloys dirty. Well thats my suggestion anyway

Green stuff are crap for any vehicle that goes faster than you can walk
ye green stuff are rubbish, I currently got red stuff pads but not used them yet.
But the best are ferrodo ds2500 pads. G

wow everyones got a downer on Green Stuff brake pads, I hae always considered them excellent, now are we talking about them being crap on all cars in general or are you referring to them being crap on Puntos. This is my first Punto so I really don't have anything to compare. I previously owned XR2, XR3/i, and an Astra (why I will never know)
I've used them on a GT and never again, they're good if you drive like your average pensioner, but after 2 or 3 big stops they don't work anymore. Unlike a DS2500 like already suggested, that you can jump on as hard as you like for hours and they don't fade, they only get better.
It depends how you drive and how much you want to spend. DS2500's are expensive but it's worth that extra 60% if you want your brakes to work after you've leaned on them.
ATE Superblue is brake fluid and bloody good stuff to for the money. Change it because if you boil your brake fluid it won't matter how good your pads are...depends on how hard you drive the car really but you did ask for a good setup.
