What is a brake switch?
I had my brake switch changed about 4 months ago, But now the brakes are not working again, it isn't the brake switch not working casue some times they work and other times they dont, i took it too halfords auto centre today and they said the switch is sticking so they lubbed it up, but there still not working, any ideas?
If you look above the brake pedal, there is a white bit of plastic with a button on he end, this is called the brake switch, it is basically a button works on the same principle as a clicker pen, when the pedal is pressed, the 'button' will release, which in turn will turn your brake lights on, then when the pedal is released it will then push the button into the 'off' position so to speak, thus turning your brake lights off
Maybe you have a wiring problem or earthing problem!
Honestly can't imagine a tiny plastic switch needing lube...
If you press the switch with your finger do the brake lights work?
wiring problems as Dan says.
You obviously have a problem that isn't solely or directly that switch.
