What is the actual difference between fibreglass and carbon? Is it basically just a little bit of weight and the actual material used?
Ok heres the 1st Group buy for a few years, but lets see what interest we can get...
Punto mk1 Tailgate
This will fit using original hinges and catch, you will have to alter the rams though!
I need agreement on weather the tailgate will be with the numberplate recess or without
I need agreement if the inside lower section should accept the original plastic trim, or have a carbon inspection panel like these Toyota Doors -
I need 10 people to warrent making the plug and moulds, but all 10 dont have to have fibreglass, and all 10 dont have to have carbon, they can be a mix!
Once we have 10 names, I will require a 20% deposit, once i have all 10 deposits we will start the work, turnaround, depending on how our racing is going, will be around 4 weeks, then on a 1st ordered - 1st delivered supply with each tailgate being sent 2 days after the previous.
Fibreglass tailgate (white finish) £220.00
Fibreglass & Carbon composite (white finish) £350.00
Carbon (white finish) £420.00
Carbon showing weave, laquered £680.00
UK Delivery £25.00
ALL PRICES ARE PLUS VAT
the weight will be approx 6 - 8 kilo, there wont be much difference on any of the options.

seeing as i can see this taking a little while to get 10 names together and actually being stuck to, gives me the chance to save the pennies
I dont know about other people, but i would like one with the number plate recess and a carbon panel rather than the original plastic
Tony, is the deposit a non refundable one i assume?
Lets keep general chit chat to a minium in here please!
Fibreglass is chopped strand matt laminated in a polyester resin, it is strong enough for every day use creating a light, rust free panel.
Carbon fibre is a totally different product with great strength, this is then woven into a cloth and laminated in a polyester resin that creates a superb impact resistant panel.
The more carbon (and less fibreglass) gives more strength, but that's just down to budget!!
on a road car, you wont need carbon, its just for the bragging rights
I wont accept any deposits until there are 10 names. Once I take the deposits, the work will start, at that point it is non refundable, yes.
If a deposit is taken, but the 10 people dont make their deposit, or the work doesnt start within 4 weeks (due to race commitments / work load), a FULL refund will be issued.
