Prefer the RS 5pot sound. 4cyl is a flat sound. You can't really like it as its flat.

The Volvo 5cyl does sound tasty indeed, as for saying you "can't like" a 4cyl sound it's just an opinion so of course you can.

4cyl has no character. Its a flat sound with no tune. The only 4 cylinder with a good note was the 4 cyl boxer. Some VTEC engines sound good but the exhausts still suffer.

The 5,6,8,10,12 cylinder engines sound good.

I disagree that 4 cylinders can't sound good. A 4 cylinder engine with loads of boost coming out the back will sound good, even more so when theres less 'noise' and just the sound of air, sounds more like thrust not boost.
