If it only does it in third the synchro on that gear will more than likely be damaged.
If it were a linkage issue you would have difficulty finding all the gears
For quite a while now my 3rd gear hasn't work properly... When you put it into 3rd and lift the clutch it pops back out and if you hold it in it Grinds. In the manual it says somethings wrong with the gear selector cable but it doesn't say how you can adjust this or replace. Help!

Ok cheers guys, Yeah i could do that.. but when you drive and 3rd pops out when you're revving quite high, it's rather embarrassing haha.
Skip 3rd, 2nd til the red line then block change into 4th!
Good excuse to tell the pigs too
So it pops out even when the gear is engaged and your applying throttle?
It will be the syncro as said, because when torque is being applied through the meshing it should keep it engaged, so i would say that rules out the selector fork.
Still sounds like wear on the synchro to me, the whole point in the synchro/dog clutch assembly is to match the shaft speeds by friction and allow the gear to be selected without crunching.
Yeah for the cost you cant beat a second hand GT gearbox, they hardly ever break, just wear out.
