if it was that easy their would be loads of them mate!
Hi I'm in London and just wonder if anyone would be interested to do the conversion from a 1.6 sporting to a 1.6 gt.
Here is a link of a thread that says what needs to be done

I have most of the parts ready apart from the head and the turbo.
Can anyone suggest a decent price for the labour that you would charge to do so ? Cheers.
Oubviously I would be there to help aswell, Im not a pro but can do the basics.

Dean maybe interested in helping you.
Yep thats right! especially the 1.6 which was replaced by the 1.2 sporting thats why you dont hear many project on them, by the time people know about these engines they've all been scraped!
Yh I could give it a try but I don't want be left half way on the project then having to get the car towed away as I am moving out london soon. want this to be done quick by someone who has more experience than me. and OFCOURSE! BE READY FOR SUMMER...If that was up to me i would still be on it till winter :S Lol
dunno whwere u get the idea its easyer than a gt conversion because u will still have to covert everything to gt i.e gt gearbox, hubs, rear beam, loom (if not going standalone) gear linkage fuel pump fuel lines manifold inlet u should actually do ur reaseach before even considering it tbh u may as well pay for a gt conversion and then look at building a 1.6 engine to go in it
I have researched around I know what it involves. I didn't say it was easier but it's not as hard as people think, its not because its rare that is means its hard. Someone that know his gt perfectly could do this easy. Its just like doing a 1.4 GT conversion apart that you keep the 1.6 bottom end which in this case you leave the bottom end then start building everything around it.
