    gt1 aux belt tensioner and alternator

    is a gt1 aux belt different from gt3 ??
    has any 1 got some pictures of gt3 aux belts ?
    and has anyone got any pictures of the rear of an alternator when in place ..


    is this alternator assembled in a good manner ? its that kind of flat bar that im afraid of , the one that holds the alternator to the water pump

    That wide bar to the water pump isn't present on the alternator of the engine I took out of The EwOK, and looks as though it would prevent adjustment of the aux. belt tension. The alternator should be able to pivot about the bottom bolt.

    But when i took the aux belt out, i remember noticing that the alternator does not move, it's the tensioner with the lobe that tensions the aux belt .. like in the pic below :

    OK, fine. All I'm saying is on the GT3 engine I took out that bar isn't there, and there's a screwed adjuster to the top bolt of the alternator, which fits in the curved, slotted holes.

    so i think gt1 is different since i have no slotted holes ;/
