    Have a look at the nokia N8. A few months old but still a well built handset. Strong and easy to use touchscreen too.

    i have the N8, nothing special and the aps are crap compared to android and apple. Prehistoric Symbian OS really lets it down as well. Camera is bloody good for a phone though.

    Mate has the iphone 4 and has only had 1 issue with the lock/unlock button and he has it in a protective case and never drops it. Fair play to apple they exchanged for a brand new phone off the shelf with no hassle at all.

    No experience with the HTC HD though, was tempted to get one but was offered an N8 as a replacement with only 6 months left on my contract so would have been daft not to.

    I have the HTC Desire HD and it's a fantastic phone. Mainly got it for the reasons you want it Ben; ie I struggle with the buttons on I-phones and my misses HTC because they are small and I'm a mong.

    It is big but that's what I got it for! Tbh the screen is amazing, much better than the Iphone 4 even by my die-hard apple mates admission (mac-book, I-phone, I-pad, has them all, never uses them lol). The Desire HD is just as bad for battery life as the Iphone, will just about stretch to two days max with medium use. The apps are pretty much the same for Apple and Android now, been playing Ninjump lots lately

    The Iphones seem to be a bit hit and miss with breaking. I know of ones that have broken from the lightest touch. On the other land a couple of lads have them at work and we are always tumbling about on scaffolding etc and they haven't broken. My misses brother dropped one from a tree at Go Ape about 40ft up and it didn't have a mark on it lol.

    I have the iPhone 4 and I love it. It's pretty robust too tbh. I'm always dropping it, covering it in oil and diesel too. It has a rubber bumper and protective film on front and back. The 4 is 'ment' to have a scratch proof screen too. But I do insure mine for 15 a month just in case I do break it lol

    I use;
    Iphone 4 32gb personal use
    HTC windows 7 trophy for work

    Both great phones and can do everything needed for myself, only up of the HTC is that I can open every format without issues like on a PC inc. flash without jail breaking voiding warranties etc...

    Crap-ple suck, You need an Android in your life even my x10 pisses on the iphone 4.0, HTC Desire HD or Nexus S you can't go wrong, and put the iphone idea where it belongs... the bin along with the phone.
