Any help with removing dried compound?
Eg, lines in sealant in shuts, edges on panels?

Do you mean stuff that presumably hasn't been buffed off (which I've never seen, but don't work in a bodyshop, so wont), or do you mean the dust it creates that often gets left behind in panel gaps?!

    or...

Are you talking about dried on lines that get stuck on the edges of protection films etc? I see this alot, where the owner has been over keen with wax etc and it builds on the stone chip protection films behind wheels and covering certain panels. If it's this one, then it's a good question - I use a cotton wool bud with IPA (isopropanol) on, which removes most of it and certainly softens it up, then a toothpick used with care will remove the rest

Cheers for product recommendation, I had seen 2 hood specialists cleaners on shelf in Halfords, then remembering where I was I figured they sell it not through recommendation, but contract back handers.
It's a real shame the condition of hood, only 5-6 years old but the owner never did any treatment to the fabric, just car shampoo. Over time it's picked up a lot of deposits. I quickly tried a motorcycle garment cleaner purely because it was around and has washed off traffic film really well in past. Had no effect out colour restoration, but when rinsing the hood the colour is really vibrant then fades back when drying. Defo a job needing before & after pics when I get time.

Thanks, though it is certainly the Reviver product I need that Debo first pointed out, the colour options are limited to 4 choices, the closest to my needs is brown. It literally needs a really good clean then a colour "stain" to bring the vividness of the colour back. I'll look around for a red variation.
I could clean and then protect the finish, but I cannot see that being enough to restore UV fade.

Yeah, if you're looking for a cleaner, make sure you get the right one. If in doubt, I presume you'll have some APC lying around, use that dilute 10:1 waterroduct. Its perfectly safe. Rinse the hood down first, then apply and brush as I suggested before, then rinse very thoroughly. If you've got a wet vac that will help draw more dirt out, and also dries the hood a lot easier for you!!! Then you can apply the colour restorer.

Kyle, it must be new, didn't think the lads did Britemax stuff. I got mine ages ago from I4D as part of a group buy its good stuff, I use it for all my tailpipe work. Was down there today, picked myself up a pair of MJ's, will show you what I mean later in the week, you'll laugh think "michael jackson"..

Sorry, forgot to reply to Ben - get a cotton wool bud, and some toothpicks. Use APC on the bud if you've no IPA, give it a wipe, see how you go. If no joy getting rid of the dried residue, then use the toothpick. Same can be done around badges etc, which is where it also collects.
