For saloons, I've found that a pressure washer works wonders for those nooks and crannies. Just don't screw it down to too fine a jet nor use the lance too close. Cabrios need a more gentle treatment to the hood and where it joins the glass and bodywork, obviously. Spot treatment of stubborn hood stains, for a cabrio. Then a normal wash regime to get things properly clean. Then any special treaments (hood, plastics) and waxing etc.

    Just my take on it.

I've used a foaming hood cleaning before in the gaps in windows and a baby bottle brush to agitate the old stuff. Foam again to bring it all to the surface and then hosed it gently of the car. No chances of blowing the rubber seals or pushing the moss deeper in.

Really it only seems to be holding on the old rubber the hood doesnt seem to catch it. What foamed are you using?

Hey Dan. As suggested, snow foaming the whole car would be a good starting point. I use some ph neutral Valet Pro stuff - they're all much of a muchness though, so long as they're ph neutral. I use a variety of detailing brushes to get in all the nooks and panel gaps. For the window rubbers, which is generally where the moss seems to stick the most, you may find the softer brushes don't quite lift it, that being the case switch to a stiffer brush - its only rubber, you won't damage anything. Same goes for round the top of the screen where it meets the roof, a stiffer brush may be required. I also spray Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner on the slightly more stubborn areas too, just to help break down the dirt and moss.

    Hope this helps mate

My dad is just using a soft bristled brush in this picture, paying particular Attention 2 Detail to the soiled area in the first picture, whilst the snow foam is dwelling on the entire car.
