Agree, someones been at it this morning.
Fair enough posting their own shite, but replying to other new members threads is out of order.
Not sure if this can be done on the current forum software, but is it possible for new users to require ther first post to be approved by a moderator before it being posted on the forum?
As there are no effective measures in place to stop the arseholes signing up and posting random crap multiple times a day, this may help to reduce the amount that make it onto the forum.
Thoughts?

Fantastic Idea
Hmmm, that would be a good idea.
But it will end up with moderated threads apperaing all over the forum, and without doubt some will get missed and new users won't be able to post.
I'll see if Chris has any input into summit along these lines.
How about a Captcha. That should stop the CPU generated crap?
It's that ****ing idiot following me around, someone find out where he lives fromhis IP and me and my breaker bar will stop him posting derogatory wank!
Needs to be made clear, new people NEED to post an introduction before they can use the rest of the forum and that introduction needs to be approved. Keeps all threads needing approval in that one forum...
I joined a mates forum the other day and I had no access till I made a post in the intro section, it's all possible, there will be endless modifications available to make it poss.
We go through cycles with the bots, go months with non, we must just be showing quite high traffic on google or something.

Dan, depending on what provider he has then his ip address will change as most providers dont give static ip address but use dhcp so a new ip address usually is leased every 24 hours. However if you are able to get the ip within the hour and somehow trace it then you have a very good chance
Good idea about the captcha but will get very annoying if your a genuine user.
I do feel that 1st post approval is a good idea, you can clearly tell whos a fake and whos not!
I like your idea Dan, approving a post in the intro section first. Might also help with newbies deciding they don't like punctuation.
Even better idea, nice one Dan.
Will be great to implement something like this and this way it would ensure all new users will introduce themselves properly.
Very good idea guys, got a from me
