Current issues and user behaviour.

The moderators and administration are currently dealing with a spate of spurious registrations, spamming and related issues. This is still ongoing. So, please exercise appropriate caution with new posts, especially from new users, and links contained therein.

Almost all of the spurious registrations contain obviously false or inconsistent details. Please make sure that your required registration details are sensible and up to date via the User Control Panel, Edit Your Details screen, to ensure that you are not mistakenly banned as a result.

It has also been noted that there has been a recent decline in the quality of posts, particularly the descent into "text speak", lack of necessary punctuation, incorrect spelling and word usage. This makes it difficult to understand what you mean and is generally against the forum's Terms and Conditions. This is not confined to new users only. Please review the Terms and Conditions and understand that misuse MAY result in post deletion, temporary ban or permanent ban, without notice.

Because of these issues with "spammers" I am going to be performing an emergency upgrade to the forum software. This shouldn't take a great deal of time however be prepared for it to be gone for at least 1 hour.

Some of these spammers were registered before the patches were installed tonight so these users can still post their spam.

I'm trying to delete as many of these users as I can now but if you spot any posting, please use the report button (thanks cpunto)
