    First time on a DSLR

Today i was messing around with daddies Canon EOS 1D Mark 3 DSLR, to be honest i was just having some fun with the settings to try get some decent photo's really. The settings i was changing was the FOD, EV and ISO.

hopefully i'll be getting either a 1000D or the lower model 400D with a 50mm lens and a 17/24mm wide angle lens.

Also shows the recent addition to the engine family, a FMIC (Thanks again Leighton (FCP) )

The first few pictures i toke were just point and shoot, after i got used to the camera i started to change a few settings.

This shot was taken with 0EV and as you can see it was too bright.

So i tried to take that shot again with -0.3EV and it looks much better IMO

This was just a point and shoot shot from the front to show the FMIC, didn't bother taking with a better exposure.

These next 2 shots were just fiddling with the FOD, first has a small field (F5.6) as only the oil cooler is in focus.

But this shot with a larger FOD shows that the forground and background and more in focus (around F11 or F10 i think)

This is again messing around with the FOD and again its a small F stop.

This time i adjusted the exposure to 0EV and it was clearly too bright

Taken with slightly lower EV than 0 but who knows, i was in my element at this point!

Same settings as previous picture just from the opposite side

No point to this picture, just wanted to try get a picture of an original sticker saying to not touch the fan lol.

These 3 pictures shows the different between EV's, the first is 0EV, second is -0.3EV then -0.6EV, i did adjust the ISO accordingly as well.

These 2 pictures of the bear are of different FOD's and EV's

    Me.

This was another picture of a badge to show its originality

A pretty sick looking bike parked in the street, wanted to get something other than my Punto. Unsure of make/model

Then these last 3 are again to show the difference between EV's

    Really over exposed

    Slightly over exposed

    Good exposure

That was it for the day as it was chilly on the willy and dont tell me they are rubbish as i know they are - was my first time on a DSLR

    Any advice please give
