    The Retard Evo - Protection Detail

    Evening all..

    I haven't done a write up on here for a while, as I've been taking a back seat and allowing the section to grow, and you guys have done a smashing job of filling it full of questions, and advice from those with a bit more knowledge. It's been really great see. Anyway, enough of the gushy stuff, obviously I'm still doing detailing, and am infact going to start working with the forum as a trader/sponsor in the near future, so if any of you want me to take a look at your cars or whatever, I'm going to be doing "forum deals" and that sort of thing. I'm not expecting to be overwhelmed by demand etc as I appreciate that detailing can be a costly service, but maybe as a one-off, a gift or whatever, then there may be some of you who are interested

    Some of you may already be aware from reading other sections of the forum that going back about 3 weeks or so now, I detailed Dan's Evo.. the famous "Retard Evo"

    Well, here's the write up for said detail - starting with some mucky pics

    There's a bit of a mixed bag of pics, some are mine, some are ones Daniel'san took

    Anyway, that was that.

    So, the main job aspects for a Protection Detail is as follows;

    * safely cleanse the vehicle without causing damage
    * fully decontaminate the paintwork and wheels (two stages)
    * apply a single coat of protection (wax/sealant) to all exterior surfaces
    * clean and vac interior (incl. glass), protect all plastic trim
    * clean, condition, and protect all exterior trim - chromework, tyres etc.

    Onto some progress pics then, starting with the pre-wash foaming of the car;

    Whilst that was left to dwell, I tackled the wheels with some Bilberry;

    Looking like I enjoyed this a bit too much

    After this, I washed the whole vehicle using hte double bucket method and some shampoo detergent (i.e no added wax). No pics I'm afraid, as I think it may have began pissing it down on me at that point

    Up next was the decontamination stages, starting with claying..

    Then the Baron was subjected to a second wash, to remove any leftover clay residue and any contamination that was brought out of the paint and lying on the surface..

    After this second wash the car was then dried properley using deep pile drying towels. Then I was able to begin the next stages. Normally, it would be the protecting of the paintwork, but Dan had requested some special attention to his pink bits... oooOOoo matron!!!

    Before the revival of the red though, here's a shot of the tailpipe..

    Now the red being restored

    Rare pic of the PSC icon watching over me...

    Then after this came the glazing phase, which is again, not standard during this detail. The glazing helps to hide minor marring, aswell as bring a lovely level of surface gloss!

    Once the whole car was glazed, it was time to start applying the protection - beginning, in this case, with Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid, and then a coat of Natty's Red for the secondary layer of protection.. this was to ensure it lasts through the harsh winter months we're expecting

    Here's the Dodo Juice SNH curing..

    Then that was it finished! the glass was cleaned inside, which Dan did himself to save some time, then we rolled it into the garage to take some schnaps!!

    Then onto Tesco's for one moar pic...

    Hope you enjoyed reading!

    Cheers,
    Matt.

    Cheers!

    Yes, deals on full treatments, and tuition. I have already set up a couple of product deals via my main suppliers, but there's no reason why I couldn't amend or add to them..
