    Mk4 Golf V5

    Anyone had one of these?

Were looking at something a little nippier with 4 doors and ive found a nice 03 plate with 68k for £4000.

Ive had a look up on the net and done some basic research, 180bhp 20V 2.3l
    oh and 5 cylinders

Ive seen the tax band they're in etc, im just after some basic pointers i dont want to know if they are ugly or whatnot, thanks.

Now i almost knew this would be the first reply. Ive been in a MK3 VR6 are they nothing like that?

Its not for blasting around in anyway, its for the Mrs to ferry our kids around in and overtake and actually have some power rather than waiting for her Focus to pick up some momentum.

    Cheers anyway.

you said you wanted something nippier, this is not nippy. as stated they dont produce good power and are very heavy. the power deliver is boring. i would stick with the mk3 vr6.

Not for an N/A family car? My 2.6 v6 vectra only had 167 so 180 out of a 2.3 aint bad. It would of thought it will have alot more torque than say a clio sport which has similar power.

Never liked the idea of an odd number of cylinders in a V though...seems unbalanced lol.

Not nippier than a GT mate, I mean nippier than a 1.6 Focus

MK3 is a little old for her tbh and not much in the sense of safety features.

Cheers for the input though Gaz
