I know they aint haters everyones allowed their own opinion.

Tbh, i dont want bigger tyres, even if i could run wider tyres i wouldnt as i love them the way they are

The wheels are technically illegal as they are but it would have to be a right dick'ed of an traffic officer to pull you up on it, even then they'd only give you an MOT warrent. My Dad's 40inch tyres stick out about a foot past the already extended archs...

I'll swoop in and second Kyle!
    I did lol at that!

The difference is, they see a young lad driving my car and an adult driving the 4x4 and 9 times out of 10 they'd pull the young lad. But i havnt had any trouble with running wide wheels. Even with my cossies, i got pulled by one of the police interceptors for speeding and he let me off after a thorough check of the car (didnt say anything about tints/hids/wide wheels/stretch loud exhaust etc etc lol)

So yeah, tbh unless the officer is having a bad day i doubt ill be troubled by it.

are you serious? You seriously think that much of a stretch is perfectly safe? It IS and accident waiting to happen, whether you can see it or not.

Don't get me wrong, i like a sensible amount of stretch but that is just daft and the police can prosecute you for it if they look into it.

Lol. Well it's the tyre is sealed. I don't drive stupid. I've done over 500 miles and they haven't lost ANY air. Why us it so unsafe?

As I said the tyre popping off could happen to any tyre at any time.

a tyre with a sidewall that stretched is a lot more likely to become unseated and pop off the bead than a normal tyre. Obviously the tyre is sealed at present or you wouldn't be able to run any pressure, and just because you've done 500 miles doesn't make them safe and doesn't mean it won't happen. They wont lose a bit of air when they go, the tyre will lose its seal and lose ALL pressure, like having a tyre blow out. Do you really want that at 70+mph on a motorway or mid-corner? Wouldnt take much more than a pothole if the tyre wall is loaded.

I've seen it happen, and cause a nasty accident, which is why i dont like anything more than a mild stretch.

I've hit potholes And the tyre is still firmly on there.

I've seen people have blowouts at 70+mph on standard wheels/Tyres. So does that mean no one should drive at all?

Just cause you've seen it, doesn't mean it's going to happen!

The person who had the wheels before me never had any problems with Tyres popping off. Nor did the person before him.

I will show these pics to my best mates dad, he retired from his position as chief accident investigation for the met police 3 years ago. That means he was in charge of investigating all fatal road traffic accidents, which prob makes him one of the most experienced people in the country in vehicle safety. Will get his opinion on how safe/unsafe they are and the legality side of it too.
