your best off replacing your tank with a plastic one from a lower model as it is the easiest option. you can also repair the kneck with two part epoxy putty witch sets like steel and is resistant to petrol but takes more prep. in both cases you will have to remove your tank.
Actually the easiest option would be to replace it with another metal GT tank. No cutting anything off or p*ssing about with straps. However, finding a good one might prove difficult.Originally Posted by lampy

i have a metal tank that dont leak infact i have 2 1 is for sale £50 collected its yours
have a look at ebay, there is a plastic one for a good price also a yellow gt going in parts and the tank is listed.

i repaired mine with the epoxy putty just over a year ago and have had no problems!Don't even bother repairing it. It will just leak again.
welcome to the forum mate its good to see theres another gt in brum dont see them very often.
