Punto GT 1997

hi was wondering if anyone could help me out i have recently bought a punto GT when the car is running tempature is fine but when the car is ticking over it starts to over heat, would this be my fan control swith is possibly knackered or any ideas.

am pretty sure its not the headgasket, done all the checks was first thing a looked for, found out tonight that the fan wire is bridged and even when the ignition is off the fan continues to run, then i have started to take the fan fuse out after stopping the car. now having the fan running constant when driving car is always cool, so all is good there wich throw me to it being the fan control switch ( also i have been told it has got a 1.6 punto sport radiator fitted ) also looking to buy a GT 1997 radiator

Could be thermostat or water pump also.

yer thats true and does the heating work in the car does it get hot inside if not waterpump but id change simples first // thermostat the fan switch then worry about parts on the engine

still getting hot air through the heating also if i leave fan running constant when wires r bridged car stays nice and cool

Does the rad fan come on on its own at all? If it doesn't then it could be the rad fan switch

nope radiator doesnt come on

Either a bad connection to the red fan switch or you need a new switch
