Welcome to the forum...
Theres a few mk2's on here, but take a look at a project thread by the user 'samsonite', for a bit of inspiration and a few basic ideas!
Cheers, Mark.
Hi All,
My first post here, so be gentle!
Looking to convert a 3 door Mk 2 Punto into a track day car...Not looking to spend masses, and there's no "D-Day" for completion, so looking for tips on what to do...Just looking to create a fun car for track days, no serious race ambitions!
I'm guessing that stripping the interior is a start, but looking for tips on weight loss (the car, rather than me!), seats, brakes and possibly a roll cage (for safety, stiffening and the further possible weight loss I can perform after installing). Might go for welding the doors too - so open to thoughts there...would jkust be nice to create a fast, funn car for occaisional use on the track.
So, let fly everyone - advice definiately encouraged please!
Alex

hello
im also building a low budget track car mk1 turbo, check my thread out in projects, best to start with the stripping of the car just take off everything you dont want, get some pics up aswell and also best to not weld the doors shut for trackday as when on the track your not aloud to open windows so you wont be able to get out
