    my mk1 uno turbo project

spent half an hour washing it off today before putting it to bed, tbh im very pleased with it, looks like it still has the origanal tyres on the rear, also has the standard mats in the car and an un-cut rear shelf, looking like its going to be a good project as all the parts are there, just need to shot blast and powdercoat alot of parts like the air box and stuff. well as promised here are a few pics, not the best as i forgot the camera again and these are from my phone.

and this will be its home for the next year of restoration.

interior is in good condition just some cleaning and maybe new bolsters needed.

managed to get the inside stripped out today and to my suprise the tin worm isnt bad at all, both rear suspension tops need a plate on just the top, and the front of the seals where they join the floor need doing, and thats it, the floor is in great shape tbh not even any sign of it being jacked up wrong.

a big thanks to louie for sorting these wheels for me, just picked them up from lepsons and you would not belive how good they look, the pics dont do them justice, and to thing they look like they had been rattle canned gold when i got them

sorry for the delay in this project, it was out of my hands, been waiting on the paint shop for a while, here are a few pics of it from the weekend, it is now pugged up and in primer so ill get more pics tomorrow or wednesday, should be bringing it back home at the weekend.
it looks to have had the upper part of both doors and the bonnet painted at some stage but cant see why, the rear bumper mounting points have also been remade since the pictures and fuel filler removed.

    just a little pic update

well didnt get it home this weekend due to the sprayer having other commitments, but i went over there and got it started up for the first time in 13 years, and i can say it appears to run like a dream
    i fitted:
    new fuel pump
    new plugs
    new leads
2nd hand coil and ignition moudule
    top boost pipe
emptied and put fresh petrol in the tank
    new oil and filter

and it fired up i was so happy having not known what to expect really, i still have to replace the belts and pullys with punto gt ones but other than that it should be fine.

also still got to steam clean everything and fit the air box back on.

a little video of it running, sorry for the low sound.

just picked up my interior from being cleaned and it looks very good imo, i will be on the look out for a new drivers seat in the near future tho.

also had the wheels rapped in rubber this week

Those wheels are gorgeous. Makes me laugh how high they are standard. They seem to have done a cracking job with the interior, has it jsut been wet vac'd?
