I agree with the other staff comments.
Swaps are ok, but always going to cause issues.
Gauging interest is BS. It's either for sale or it isn't.
Posting your on pic is to prove you have the item i guess.
Its a small rule tbh, some forums make you go to the trouble of posting the photo with your details in the pic as proof.

And guess what I never received anything so this is a possibility that will happen unless you meet face to face
done at own risk just like buying and selling
If you're selling summit I don't see why you'd not want cash as well as a possible swap.
Using adams example, seb0'd ecu £50 or swap for seb4. Instead of a straight swap thread.
No, cause to much hassle tbh. If you want to swap things do it on your own terms in private and don't bring the forum into it imo. Some people cna make things complicated enough.
Couldn't much of this be resolved by, as has been roughed out already, thinking up some minor rules about part-exchange terms being allowed in For Sale threads? E.G. Part Exchange - a) all negotiations to be carried out via PM/e-mail and not in thread b) as always, "caveat emptor", ensure that you take all reasonable steps to protect yourself (keep evidence, e-mails, postage confirmations etc.) in case of fraud c) only list items that are acceptable in part-exchange, please be as accurate and complete as possible, without going to excessive length.
Just my suggestion.
Theres nothing to say that the members cant do that anyway Tim, just no point diversifying the classifieds any further when alot of members still dont post a picture and a price.
