Free mp3's legally... only way is small bands and artists giving them away in an atempt to get recognised.

amazon.co.uk for some freebies. Plus you can, currently, get credit towards MP3s, if you buy other suitable stuff. Albums are the cheapest way to acquire MP3s and Amazon had some good ones for me (Sting & The Police, Eurythmics, Essential Blues Collection etc.).

I take it that was sarcasm? That's pricey, in my book.

    Not really pricey.
Can get an album for £7 with 18 tracks.
    It's very easy and handy.
Say I'm walking along and fancy listening to a song... Grab iphone, download and when I sync to computer it transfers over.

    Anyhoo, that was off topic.

Free AND legal? Erm... why would anyone officially give away stuff for free?

The iTunes store 'Single Of The Week' is free to download, and yeah Amazon occasionally have free downloads. A few bands now are giving away releases for free in the hope that a few people will go buy it on vinyl/cd.

    Good luck!
