MK1 Shell - Good base of track weapon, some prep work done

o.k. People just trying to see if there is any interest in my shell, which I started prepin from my project track car.

For those who don't know about what I started and what work has been done, you should look at my old project thread which contains photos and a little walk throu what I have done:
    http://www.puntosports.co.uk/forums/...ight=red+devil

    • Car is total stripped in side
    • All the sound deadening crap has been removed
    • Floor plans were cleaned up (inside & out) could do with a bit of a sproose up
    • What little rust the shell had was treated (only bit was near the filler neck brackets see project thread)
    • A fresh coat of under seal applied to the underneath to protect it
    • The front windscreen will need replacing as it has been cracked
    • The left hand side rear has a minor dent as per this pic:
      http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...l/DSCF0287.jpg
    • The front suspenstion leg mounting points have been strenghtend with a thick wedge of steel. Although they could do with being cleaned up a bit now as they have rusted a little bit.
    • The rear housing/arches inside have had a thick plate of steel wealded for mounting rear legs of a roll cage, as per MSA blue book spec.
    • Other points in the shell have been prepared ready for cage mounting points.

The shell is a good base for anyone wanting to build a good track car or anything to be used for all things fun.
Cosmetically it doesnt look too hot,the body work is not perfect as it has a few dings and paint is faided, that never bothered me as it was going to be finished with a fresh paint job inside out but the shell is very good with vertually no rust.
The main things is that the shell is very very good base condition for such a project to be built from, I also belive it spend a good time out in malta which is a nice hot & dry place which is why isnt rotten like some found over here.

Currently I am just looking to see if any one is interested in the shell only as a lot of work has gone into prepin it and I think it would be a shame to scrap it and lose out on all the time, money and effort that I put into it so far.
So the bare shell with REG & V5 Log book is on offer.

If I can't sell the shell then everything will go into storage for me to come back to in later years. If I sell the shell then many other goodies for building a big spec Punto will be up for grabs including the roll cage with extra bars ect

If anyone is interested in a bit of a package deal such as a rolling shell with F&R refurbed subframes ect or with the roll cage then talk to me.

Please PM me or email andyc@xlerate.net if interested

price wise... I really do not know but I am open to offers to see what people are thinking they would pay for it.

Also guys if I do get a resonable price for the shell, just so that you have an idea about the cage side of things, Demon Tweeks have it listed for about the £580 mark:
    http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Applic...d=27628-1893-C

So I would be looking for atleast this for the cage, this would also include the two extra bars that are made ready to be wealding in. One is for the bottom of the legs of main hoop and the other bar is for the going accross the rear legs which act as a kind of rear strut and also somewhere to affix the harnesses to.

    Thanks

o.k. guys will try and give people an idea of what I'm thinking

I think that it would be best & easyest to sell as a rolling shell that can be rolled onto a trailer, this can have extra goodies left on such as coilovers, ARB's and cage if the buyer also wanted to buy such items as well or I can go to a local breakers put on old standard stuff on to keep it a rolling shell or simply leave/take off.

If you look at my project thread you can see the bits below/work that has been done

The rolling shell would have fitted/come with also:

    - Front refurbished subframe with all new bolts
    - New front wishbones which cost £29.89 each from shop4parts fitted with powerflex poly bushes which cost £20 & new nuts & bolts fitted
    - Refurbished front hub carriers (shot blasted, primered and re painted in matt black)
    - New set of front hubs which cost £41.99 each from shop4parts
    - New set of bearings which cost £39.29 each from shop4parts (although I think the garage that pressed in the bearings looked have damage the one on the passenger side so that one might need replacing, not sure)
    - New set of track rod ends fitted which cost £14.80 each from shop4parts
    - A nice clean power steering rack from a GT with standard GT stearing wheel & colume fitted
    - Refurbished rear subframe with all new bushes (which cost £32 for the full set from shop4parts) pressed in & new bump stops fitted
    - Rear swing arms attached with new nuts/bolts, hubs have done about 5k miles
    - Some old standard front suspension legs would be fitted
    - Some old rear suspension dampers & springs would be fitted
    - Some old random fiat fitment wheels
    - Some old f&r bumpers chucked in if buyer wanter to go down the sleeper look
    - A GT Dash board (but no clocks or wire loom)

All the above & the new parts cost a small fortune to buy and refurbish

    PRICE: £550

(bare shell i.e. non rolling shell with most of the above removed, I would be looking for around £250 mark but I can see it being a bit tricky to take away/transport with non of the above on it.
