    Breaking 205 whp GT1

After a lot of deliberation, I’ve decided to call it quits with my GT as I can no longer motivate myself to keep this project alive. I always thought I’d keep this forever, but things never work out the way you plan them!

To save anyone from asking, I’ve decided to keep the Emerald ECU as this is going to be used on my next project.

This list is pretty much everything that I have/will be removing in the next few days. Please ask if there is anything that you want that I may have missed.

The prices shown are for collection from NG12, they are not delivery inclusive.

    No silly offers please.

Goodridge braided brake lines, stainless fittings - sold
    Koni coilovers - sold
    Eibach anti-roll bars – sold
    Camber adjustment bolts - sold
    OMP GT1 alloy strut brace - £35
Sparco 6-point bolt-in cage (FIA certified) - sold
    Speedline Magnesium 15”x6.5” 2010 with Toyo T1-R 195/45 R15 - sold
GT2554R turbo with oil/water feeds, total use approx. 3k miles - sold
Dr Evil elbow (banana flanges machined flat!) - sold
Hybrid VL7 (less than 1k miles since recon, made 162.3 whp with Emerald ECU) - sold
Supersprint exhaust system (downpipe, decat, centre pipe and rear oval silencer) - sold
THS Type 1 FMIC with Samco 60-51mm silicone reducers - sold
50mm turbo to FMIC boost pipes with silicone joiner - sold
Magnecor KV85 ignition leads - sold
    K&N air filter for GT - £15

    POTR 330cc injectors - sold
Walbro 255/lph fuel pump - sold
    FSE - sold
    40mm alloy radiator - sold
Standard GT fan with new resistor - £20

Custom silicone top radiator hose (for rad fitting with FMIC) - sold
    Standard GT1 ECU - £40

Carbon fibre door cards with winder holes - £140
Sparco steering wheel with Momo boss - sold
    GT1 door cards - sold
    GT1 sideskirts - £25 pair
Gearbox, good condition, 82k - sold

Engine (block + head assembly) - sold
The engine was professionally built in 2006 at 78k miles (now 82k miles) with the following spec:
    Accralite 81mm forged pistons
Lightened & balanced rods and crank
    Gas flowed cylinder head
    Bronze valve guides
    3 angle valve seats
    276/250 cam with vernier pulley
Spesso head gasket with separate fire rings

It is still fine and I am reluctant to pull it apart for the sake of it. Earlier this year, it made good power with 1.35 bar boost and would easily have made more with better fueling http://www.puntosports.co.uk/forums/...d.php?t=110309. My plan was to fit 440cc injectors and have another go – unfortunately, I didn’t get round to doing this

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks also to Superdan for helping me strip it last weekend!

    As it stands today (22/05/2010)

Turbo - being the standard VL7, what has been changed to make it a hybrid?

i guess it's the same unit as standard so a straight swap?

The turbo was from Walker's in Northallerton - who presumably had it hybridised elsewhere. It has a slightly larger compressor wheel and re-profiled compressor housing. Absolutely perfect, no play etc etc.

    Yep, straight swap.
