Went over to see and test drive this one yesterday.

No flags on the HPI check, just a private plate from 05/2009 'til 01/2010. Back on the original now.
A good look around, quite a long chat and a test drive late revealed:
1) driver's seat cover split on RHS, probably repairable.
2) one of the shocks/struts is gone (felt like OSF) as it developed a serious oscillation at speed.
3) minor oil leak from cambox.
4) oil pressure light came on at idle after test drive (earlier dipstick check had shown at 1/2 point within the marks, so about 1/2 litre low), which might be indicative of something, although the engine didn't sound as though it was knocking and pulled well.
5) a whine from the gearbox/transmission (road speed related), not very loud and I was told that I've "good ears" by an Italian Fiat mechanic when I called in to have a check on CHeWie's bearings after becoming aware of a moan.
Tried to persuade him to sell to me there and then but, he wanted too much and Tax on a >1549cc is £205 per annum or £112.75 for 6 months and would have been well over my budget. So, it's all down to the auction, I guess.

No Tom, Mawb's got it right. I, yet again, have plans/spares that allow me to discount the problems, other than price.
Well, it looks as though there's a very determined female after it too. I wonder if she's been on here and knows the issues there are with it?
