but upon doing an HPI check it was once a "write-off" and the unknown seller denies any knowledge of that history. Anything known?

I know, blue's my favourite colour and with a full leather interior and, apparently, good hood etc. I'm still seriously tempted. But that "write-off" flag and the terse reply I got from the seller, plus unknown selling history are serious drawbacks - "caveat emptor" and all that. I'm mostly concerned that it's a "shady" dealer, as she/he didn't answer my "vehicle inspection as condition of sale?" question.

Tim. It looks lovely but it has running issues and HPI throwing up write off sets alarm bells ringing. Might only be a cat C or what have you. Its not worth the risk. Certainly wouldnt pay the 800 its currently going for!

Just steer clear.

Sadly, I think I'm going to give it a miss, I was a bit surprised when, as it was at £510 when I Punted I was auto-outbid to its current level. But Ooooohhhhhh! Thanks for the advice guys.

if you did win it and went for it, could just inspect well and see what damage there has been, if any? then could leave bad feedback if relisted, just my thought

I've been eBay-ing for years and it's best not to get into a bad situation in the first place (eBay's "customer service" and investigation into suspected scams are atrociously useless). But thanks for the thought.

Too many question marks in the end.
