Detailing's been around for years and years! The only difference now is the products are becoming cheaper and more readily avaliable. Information on detailing is also more accessible than it used to be. Same as most things really with the interweb.

There's been loads of advancements in paint technology in the last 10 years, and a vast array of products are now available. It's more popular now than it's ever been and despite still being a niche market, it's a growing market and there's demand for it.
Looking at the picture, you think that making paint go from how it looks on the left, to how it looks on the right of this 50/50, is "just a fad"? You're on summat mate!! You'll find your Porka would be worth 2 or 3k more if it's paintwork looked like the right hand side than the left hand side, I s**t you not, it adds value:
