1.1 conversion to gt turbo help !!

ok hey guys just need some quick advise has this is my first conversion and i wanna make sure everything goes right.

so do you have to change the whole car loom or is it just engine loom ??
will the engine mounts from the gt fit staight in to the 1.1 engine bay no problem ????
is there anything else i should know about before i do this ????

You will need to change the dash and engine loom.

And mounts will fit your bay.

You need to have a search for the list of parts needed.

Also, what are your reasons for doing a conversion as it's usually more cost effective to sell up and buy a true gt.

sweet thats glad to hear makes it a bit easier im gonna buy a gt donor car to convert it!!

i dunno really i bought a 1.1 punto with the abrath kit on it for 300 off a mate so thought why dont i finsh it and put the gt engine in it and it keeps me busy as i love projects

U should weigh up the pros and cons.

Eg. Would it be cheaper to get a nice gt and paint the kit?
Insurance issues.

Is the car your daily driver?

nah its not my noraml car i got a fiesta mk6 zetec s which i finshed now so this just a little project so its just somthing to keep me busy and yer it has power steering.

i dunno if i wud be able to afford to insure a gt tho thats the thing

A modified 1.1 will possibly cost more to insure than a true standard GT.
