    Post GT Classic Or Not

    Is the GT a Classic or nearly a classic or not at all?

    the reason is i see so few around and hardly any for sale.

    I would say it will be in another ten years down the line when all the remaining ones have been rusted or chavved off the road.

    I think the same goes for any performance version of a family hatchback though.

    I mean the truly mint early Uno turbo go for 3K+

    There's more Fiat Punto's on the UK roads than Ford Fiesta's... is a Fiesta a classic? No. Will it ever be? No. Same applies for the Punto GT. It's a glorified small shopping hatch with a spicey engine. An interesting car, but definately not getting anywhere near classic status.

    can the same not be said for escorts? the cozzie is pretty much loved by most and if what you say is correct then its just another crappy old ford so who cares!

    Different chassis, different shell, different engine... it was a homologation special. There's quite some difference.

    Still only makes them "popular" rather than "classic", as there's way too many yet.
