Looks to be a nice build that mags! I saw that case on ebuyer and almost went for it, but i wanted a windows to show off my tarty components

Yeah i was planning on getting some pics of me building it but was in too much of a hurry to get it up and running!

One question though... does that RAM really need all those fans lol?

Oh no, almost definitely not. I just thought it was awesome

Yea that case is really good, its big and kind of in compartments with space between everything to to stop it from getting too hot. I used to have a flashy case with a window etc but i thought i'd get something a bit more grown up this time

I've got two PC's on the go at the moment.

One I haven't upgraded for about 2 years, one I built in September as a Home Theatre PC (HTPC) to sit with my Sky+HD box, Xbox 360 and my Toshiba 42" 1080p LCD TV.

    Spec as follows:

500W NorthQ Pacific II Fanless PSU, ATX 2.2 +80%+ Efficiency NQ-4350GP-FL
    LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray/HD DVD Drive GGC-H20L
1TB Western Digital Hard Drive WD10EADS
    AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition, Callisto, S AM3, 3.1GHz, 7MB Total
    Cache HT 4000MHz, 85W, Retail HDZ550WFGIBOX
    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2, PC2-8500 (1066), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-6-6-18, EPP
    Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-UD2H, AMD 780G, AM2+, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR2 800/1066/1200, SATA 3Gb/s, Matx, GA-MA78GM-UD2
    Logitech diNovo Mini Keyboard (920-000586)
Lian Li Muse Black Desktop / HTPC Case Without PSU PC-37B

Well the first piece has arrived. Expecting the rest tomorrow!

Here is mine. Still a bit WIP on the software side of things and I still need to sort out my HDMI issue.

Pictures don't do the case justice so I will need to take some more at some point.

Basically I've only setup MediaPortal very quickly using a guide on another site. Using KMPlayer and Daemon Tools. Need to get my collection sorted as well.

But other than that I'm very impressed with it. Window 7 RC (7100) x64 is working great, but I plan to rebuild it when the RTM is out.

This is all taken from my thread on AVForums.com. http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-...irst-htpc.html

Nice - wish I had the time to build things like pc's. I'm out too much tbh, so just buy them. It is bad enough finding time to work on the car.

Been there... Done that... Got bored with the continual upgrade-itis that can result.

I'm more of a retro-freak myself. Until VERY recently, I've only needed to use my trusty IBM ThinkPad 760XD - Pentium MMX 166MHz, 80MB EDO 66MHz RAM (maxed-out!), 5.5GB Hard Drive, Hitachi CDR-S100 CD-ROM Drive, IBM ThinkPad Mwave Digital Signal Processor-based audio, Trident 968x PCI Graphics, XGA-res (1024x768) TFT Display Panel, TrackPoint "mouse", various docking stations, Buffalo WLI-PCM/L11 802.11b Wireless LAN connection to in-house Wi-Fi network connecting to all my other kit (mainframe, AIX boxen, numerous NetFinity servers/workstations and PS/2 servers/workstations, CD-ROM servers, Pioneer DRM-500X CD-ROM Library etc. etc. etc.). And I STILL find some time to post on here! My other laptops are, in increasing spec. - ThinkPad 390X, ThinkPad 600X, ThinkPad T61 (only acquired yesterday).

All but the ThinkPad T61 are happily running Win98SE and loving it, it has a Win XP Pro preload. Microsoft's bloatware is the primary driving force behind the continual pressure to get faster processors, more memory, bigger hard drives and, consequently, greater capacity backup solutions.

    So, that's my 10p's worth.
