you got lucky then! ive been looking at the prices on ebay for a while. Finally caved in and bought a set last night brand new for £65. If i see more than 1/2 a tooth difference i will eat humble pie and report back to this thread

well il look forward to your response, cos i 100% agree that if it was ok when the old belt was first fitted then surely putting another belt on in the same place will work, but after reading some stories on here its put me off trying, and the fact that they made the tools in the first place clearly shows that you need to do it using them.

What do the tools do then, do they just lock the crankshaft and cam shaft in the right position?
