Audio Editing Software

Hope everyone had a good xmas i dont know if any of you dj or remix tracks, im currently doing a remix of chase and status pieces like a rockier dubby version which should sound sick! just wondering what software people use to edit audio tracks?

i had a look and apparently sony sound forge is pretty good piece of kit! any ideas?

btw using a pc, i dont have access to a mac!
