    rev counter

    alreet! a bought a after market rev tachometre (clock) does anyone know where u link it up to, its aperantly for the old style coils, but am trying to fit on my mk2 punto 1.2, lol a know its a bit sad but the engine wont be in for long, so if any one can help, it would be a brucy bonus!

    if the engine isn't going to be in for long. . .I'm assuming you are changing to something with more power...which will probably have a rev counter as standard. So wait till you change the looms over and splice into the OE rev counter.

    Is it the wrap round a HT lead type?

    ..or is it relying on an electric pickup? Is it still the blue wire from the ECU to the dash for that?

    If the colour codes are the same as for other models its blue at the sender and blue/black at the instruments. At least that's what the Haynes manual indicates.

    whats the make of it there all different, as in diff colour wires...

    Rats! It's a Mk2 1.2 from the OPs profile and first post. My Haynes doesn't cover that. Oops.

    i know when i bought my Stewart Warner one that was abit of a nightmare to fit, i did have a shift light with it tho

    its a auto gauge, i tried linking it p to the coils but it was only picking up half the revs. i took it to team yelley tuning and they didnt even know! but i think a might just wait till a it the new engine in!
