    Engine building

Do you think you could get on the phone to fiat and order everything thats need to build a GT engine? do they still make parts? and what would be a rough 'shot in the dark cost'?

not going to do this, i'm at uni and can just about afford food! so building an engine is not happening....for now.

    just wandering really

    Dont be stupid.

And if they did, it would cost you both kidneys, a lung and and eye.

as long as its only one eye then whats the problem?

where would you go to get parts then? and could you get parts to build the whole engine, like everything.

obvioulsy i'm not going to actully build an engine, but always thought it would be cool to have a brand new 0 miles gt haha. not gona happen tho

You could buy a brand new complete GT engine a few years back, cost thousands though from memory.

Doubt they'll make a lot of it anymore so I jsut suppose it depends what they've got left scatterred about the dealers and back in Italy. In theory, if they have everything, yes you could but it'd cost an arm and leg.

Well... They dont do the cylinder heads for a start, thats half the important part of the engine no longer available.

Doubt Fiat will have NOS of blocks and anything generally 'GT only'

have they stoped making marks for them then? so its going to get to the point where there are no new parts available so once it breaks then thats it. shame really.

Well no mate, luckily there are thousands of GTs still on the road. And probably tens of thousands throughout the world all using an identical block, aswell as many other Fiat, Lancias and even Seats using similar engines/blocks.

They wont run out in your lifetime young-un, they arnt like the Panda bear

You will always be able to source spares, i have two blocks at home, and i dont even have a punto.
