Just bought another sporting, and im thinking of spraying it matt black. Or in other words "murdering it out"
Does anybody have any views ? pros and cons? Pictures taken from shows?

It can look good. But on a punto, i dont think it could pull it off.
i think it could look good but obviously it have to be modified to pull it off properly i.e lowered, possibly smoothed etc
I remember that Clio... what a ****ing beast!
My roof's matt black and tbh it's a nightmare to keep clean.
Is your bonnet matt black as well? Does matt black have laquer on it.... If it doesn't wouldn't it flake after a while?
the best but most expensive way to do matt black or any matt colour is with a matting clear over the top of your chosen colour. this protects the finish and is painted the same way as a normal clear (lacquer) and wouldnt be any more difficult to keep clean than a normal car.
the clio and the nissan have both been done this way i would think as the finish looks so good..
painting a full car with an aerosol matt black would be even worse and end up patchy as hell.
a cheap option ive seen some guys on the 'retro rides' website use some matt/satin cellulose paints in army colours like beige , greens and terrocotta reds that look ok on the right car im sure you could get that in black aswell. finish looks good but obviously need a spray gun. prob get 5litres for under 50quid.
like any paint it would only flake off if the current paint isnt prepped propperly.
here you go, bit of late night research for you: this is the stuff. satin black cellulose. scuff all your current paint up with a scotch brite. panel wipe off, mask up and spray. easy peasy! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-PAINT-CELL...08152004r14686 not saying it will look good tho!!

Cheers rick, very helpful bud.
The reason im thinking of spraying the car matt black is becuase there is an article on it in the new fast car magazine. They totaly respray a punto in 24 hours inside and out. Worth a read if anybody is interested?
I'm interested, but I'm not buying fast car lol. I was gonna do mine matt black (well satin actually) but it's a bit 2006 now.
