For ages. You load the disc onto the HDD so the disc isn't spinning all the time. You have to have the disc in the drive though.

ahh well i used to be able to load xbox and ps2 games onto hdds and play them without discs

I used to have an xbox elite, right up until end of aug. I then got a ps3 phat version basically for bluray and as a media extender to play MKV hd files, which the xbox wouldent play. I now regret selling the xbox. The menu system was better, the games are out on time(unlike GT5) just so easier to use.

When the games are installed to the xbox the noise difference isnt much different, the ps3 is still a little noisey. Just wished i kept my xbox also, as now im not in a posistion to get another.

Also the xbox control is alot better, fits your hands better than the ps3 one.

Had a quick play in game, although the view model and car models were stunning i think the track gfx are not gonna stand a chance against GT5, maybe im just too atattched to GT physics as ive been playing them since the first but Forza cars seems to stick to the road too damn well had no aids on either :-/

meh got both, love them both. Microsoft support is amazing, where as if your ps3 fails, sony dont give 2 tosses. Online on xbox is the best, yet ps3 has better video playback. Xbox store is much larger, yet ps3... oh yeah xbox 360 can also play xbox games, where as ps3 can only play ps1 games.
got an super elite just before christmas, as my premium was dying. my gf got me a 160gb fat ps3 for my last birthday.

finally done every event with gold on all tracks. unlocked 50G WOW. game is coming out never to be played again.
