i have a yellow punto gt that was runnin about 160bhp and for some reson the blok has craked on pot 4???
just to save myself of forkin out for an engine plus tryin to find agood one i have a 1.6 8 value engine that was for my girlfriends punto but she now got rid of the car
what it is i want to know is could i use the 1.6 insted of the 1.4 and would everything bolt on an run ok or what??? sombody please help me out would really help me out thanks

Different bores.
They are different bores, gt is 80.5 1.6 sporting is 86mm... yes everything would bolt on but im not sure it would run perfect with standard management... got pics of where your block has cracked? not a very common occurence that the block cracks...
so does that mean that rather than boring out a 1.4 to a 1.6 you could just use this block?
Uh-huh but you need to sort out the turbo oil feed from the block and return the water elsewhere.
i dont even know if the standard 1400 block can be safely bored to a 1.6, if memory serves, to use the sporting 1.6 bottom end, you would have to rebuid with forged (stronger) internals as the standard internals are not upto taking the boost.
theres plenty of threads on here about using the 1600 bottom end with the gt head, have a look mate.
