This car, which was written off in September last year; I finally got my cheque for the damage today!
Even then, the cheeky swine have deducted 10%, which they've 'assumed' I got for the scrappage. But as the settlement was frankly quite generous (over twice what I paid for it!), I CBA to quibble about it. I'm just glad to get my money at last. And, being unemployed, it'll give me that bit of extra cash to live on for a couple more months.
That's a result. Even if a much belated one. I usually have to complain bitterly about their undervaluation. Not that I've written-off that many though!

When I was ringing around last week everyone was telling me at the moment a mk1 punto weighs in at £70, the max i managed to get was £100, a fiat breakers offered me 130 but that was because the bodywork was in good condition and they wanted to break it
got £170 for a old ****ed metro other day, puntos go for about £190.

everywhere lol! i must be a terrible haggler then obviously, the average scrappies all said 70
maybe its just more here... duno but in my local papers theres at least 10+ companies advertising £150+ minimum for any car same day collection.
