    Evo 8 mr fq 340

    Ebay linky

I was offered this car in part exchange for mine and around 3k in cash last Saturday. the auction ended on 11k. Unfortunatly i was working and couldn't reply in time to the offer and so lost out.

did i miss out on a bargain or have a lucky escape?

It looks alright seems genuine enough, I think it's cheap becuase 66k is very high mileage for one of these, most have 20-35k on.
I doubt it's quite 400bhp also, maybe more like 380-390 with only and exhaust, a map and a filter.
If it went for 11k spend an extra 1000-1500 and get one with 30-40k on.

    Seems too cheap.

66k is alot for its age too. MRs carry a premium so dont know why its so cheap. Thing is an ebay auction isnt necessarily what its value is. It might be for sale for 12-13k elsewhere on the internet.

Make sure you have windscreen cover on yoru insurance as new windscreens are not cheap!

get a quote before even thinking about it mate, i treid getting insured as was gonna sell the 200sx to buy my mates VII RS and the cheapest i could get a quote was circa 3k from flux and i'm 26

The performance specialists kept telling me that i had to get experience on this type of car first before would insure me. problem is that evo's are such easy cars to drive incredibly fast that they are a prime vehicle to be stolen, getaway vehicles etc, where as the 200sx, if it got stolen and they didnt know the car it would be wrapped around the first lamp post they met.

Yeah i was gona say check insurance first, didnt want to sound like i was preaching though.

Im just 24, and pay quite alot on insurance sub £2k, so alot less then someone whos been banned ^(lol) But its alot more then Wilky pays and we have the same car, same age, same experiance etc. Depends alot on postcode as it is very stealable etc. Mines locked away everynight when at home.

This experiance factor thing is quite harsh sometimes. Hopefully come reknewal time i can harass the MLR insurance providers as i'll have a years valuable experiance.

a very good point. My insurance would be around 2k -2.5k but to put in context for me i paid 1.2k for the grande last year with all mods declaired. my biggest though is running costs tho, hence the research on an evo forum.
